No Arshavin Fee Agreed According To Zenit
Aug 4th
Zenit St Petersburg have rubbished reports that Arshavin is set to become a Tottenham player after the two clubs agreed on a fee for the Russian.

Arshavin’s agent recently told the British press that the player had agreed to the switch along with Zenit and just had to sort out a medical.
Zenit spokesman Alexei Blinov told Sovetsky Sport: “This information is untrue. The situation has not changed since Dick Advocaat last commented on it.”
“Tottenham offered us £15.8million for Andrei, but that does not work for us. We are waiting for a new proposal,” said Konstantin Sarsaniya, Zenit’s sporting director.
“Initially we announced that negotiations will start at around £19.8million. What the final transfer fee will be in the end is hard to say.”

Hull Require a New Gardner
Jul 29th
Hull have completed the signing of Tottenham defender Anthony Gardner on a 6 month loan deal to strengthen their squad as the Premier League season approaches.

Gardner spent the previous 6 months out on loan at Everton but was un used as he was injured for a majority of the time.
He told the Hull Local Newspaper – “I do feel like I’ve got a bit of a point to prove now.
“Not playing regularly and being at a big club where there’s lots of competition, it got very frustrating.
“Spurs are a club where you’ve got internationals in every position and sometimes it’s difficult to cement a place and play week-in and week-out.
“Over the last two years I haven’t played regularly either through that or through fitness.
“I’m looking to stay fit and play games, that’s my first port of call.”
