Newcastle Sign Bassong

Newcastle are set to complete the signing of FC Metz defender Sebastien Bassong.
Bassong agreed personal terms at St.James’s Park last night and passed a medical earlier today to close in on the deal.
The French defender was previously on trial at Newcastle and was involved in their defeat to Doncaster. The last bit of paper work should be completed tommorrow and he should be unveiled as a Newcastle player.

Star Wants Everton Move

French defender Sebastien Bassong would welcome a move to Premier League giants Everton after making an approach for the youngster.
Moyes will be looking for another Defensive player after losing Alan Stubbs to Derby County and Anthony Gardner’s loan deal expiring.
Bassong said to the French Press – “I have approaches from Germany and in England.
“To me the reality is that there are more contacts abroad than in France.
“There is Everton in the Premier League as well as Wolfsburg and Hamburg in the Bundesliga. But it’s only touches; I’m waiting to see what’s going to happen in the future.
“I don’t want to leave just to leave. I’m waiting for a real project. There’s no hurry but I want to leave, to see something elsewhere, but I still have time. There’s no emergency. Negotiations are just starting.”
Everton are set to jet out to a training camp in Switzerland for their Pre-Season preperations on Monday.
