Jan 9th
Portsmouth and England star Glen Johnson has today signed a new four and a half year contract at Fratton Park easing fears that the club are in financial crisis.
The Portsmouth faithful have already seen Diarra and Defoe head out of the door whilst Johnson was linked heavily to Liverpool throughout the window so far.
Manager Tony Adams told Portsmouth’s website: “I am delighted to have him here. I want him here for a long time.
“Glen has applied himself very well – he has been very good for this club and this club has been very good for him.”
Portsmouth Bid Rejected
Jan 8th
Middlesbrough have rejected a £4.5m bid from Portsmouth for former Fratton Park midfielder Gary O’Neil.
The midfielder left Fratton Park in the summer of 2007 for a fee of around £5.5m, but after the departures of duo Muntari and Diarra, Portsmouth are hoping to recapture someone who played with their heart on the sleeve for the club.
Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie told the club website: “We made what we thought was a good offer.
“Unfortunately it was declined by Middlesbrough and we will not be increasing our bid. He would have been a good addition to the squad.”

Season Preview – Portsmouth Fan
Aug 8th
Are you pleased with your summer transfers?
Yes i am actually but we still need to cover some areas!
Who would you still realisitically like to sign?
Eidur Judjohnsen, Sahar – on loan now but i would like to eventually sign him as he is quality!) and a couple of other players would make my summer!
What is your teams main strength?
Would of said Defence but now i think our strikeforce is class, our midfield ain’t too shabby either!

Who is the weak link in your team?
Utaka when he can’t be bothered!
Where do you think you will finish the season?
6th i think, although if we don’t bring anyone else in, i think 8th or 9th would be more realistic!
Is your manager the right man for the job?
Yes, until he can take us no more!
One to watch?
Diarra, Defoe, Crouch, Sahar – (Honestly i think he will turn out to be a quality player), and a few other players! Did you mean just one player though?
What would be the highlight of your season?
Beating 8th in the league, getting far in europe, and possible winning another cup!

Cherries Sign Pompey Youngster
Aug 7th
Portsmouth midfielder Joel Ward has completed a move to Bournemouth on a 12 month long loan and could make his debut on Saturday.
Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond went on to say – “He’s a good young prospect with a terrific attitude.
“He’ll certainly play his part for us this season and he’s one of those players who will be a lot better at the end of the season as he’s got a lot of development in him.
“If I was concerned about putting him in my first team I wouldn’t have brought him here. I’ve got no doubts that he can handle it and I’m looking forward to seeing how he does.”

Pompey Complete Signing
Aug 4th
Portsmouth have completed the signing of Omar Koroma from Banjul Hawks on a two year contract after impressing on trial.
The teenager has impressed manager Harry Redknapp in pre-season who went on to say – “I’ve been impressed with him and I’m pleased that we’ve got him here.
“I like him very much. He’s a good kid and he’s got the potential to become a very good player.
“Someone rung me and recommended him. We got him down here and we liked what we saw straight away.
“There’s a big gulf at the club between senior players and young kids. We’ve got nothing in between really but I think he can bridge that gap.
“He’s played out wide and through the middle for us in pre-season but he’s a forward player really.”
