Everton Bid Rejected For Jenas

Everton have had a loan bid for Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas after Everton were not interested in an exchange of one of their own players.

Harry Redknapp apparently has been quoted saying – ‘Everton made an offer of taking Jermaine for loan till the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal. Its not something we were interested in as we asked if there players would be available for a swap but Bill said no. So i think thats done’.

‘We just need to look around see whats available and see if the player can fit in with the wage structure but we’ve got some serious problems with the physical attributes of the squad.’

Everton v Hull

Everton vs Hull City – Goodison Park

Everton go into this game on the back of a professional performance against League Two outfit Macclesfield. Unbeaten since Ashley Young’s last minute winner last month and successive clean sheets to boast as well. Segundo Castillo may be in contention for a start, coming back from injury but no other new boosts for David Moyes’ team. It will be interesting to see if £15 million man Maroaune Fellaini starts, who is on 9 bookings with two Merseyside Derbies on the horizon.

Brown is likely to bring back a few players that missed out in the 0-0 draw with Newcastle in the FA Cup. Ian Ashbee, Boaz Myhill, Bernard Mendy and Zamil Zayette all set to return. Another who missed the cup tie was Nick Barmby, who is set to play his first game at Goodison Park since his move from Everton to rivals Liverpool. He is sure to get a reception of some kind by the Evertonians. The Tigers recent league form has been worrying. Not winning since Middlesbrough at home but also have a great 2-2 result at Anfield. More concerning for Phil Brown’s men is that they have conceeded 10 goals in 3 games in the Premier League. I’m sure he has been working hard beinhd the scenes to stop the rot.

Nick Chadwick Signs For League Two Side

Former Everton and Plymouth man Nick Chadwick has signed for Shrewsbury Town after being released by League One side Hereford United.

Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Simpson told the BBC – “He’s a six foot target man with an eye for a goal who will improve our squad.

“I was keen on him when he left Plymouth in May.”

Chadwick left Everton for 250k after scoring only 6 goals in 21 games.

Barmby – Bring on the Evertonians

Nick Barmby has stated he is unfazed by the reaction of the Everton crowd on the eve of his first return to Goodison Park, 8 years after leaving them and joining their hated rivals Liverpool.

The man known as “Judas” by many Evertonians has only played against his former team away from Goodison Park and that includes scoring against them in a Merseyside derby which finished 3-1.

He told a Hull newspaper – “I’ve had it all before and you just focus on what you are doing on the pitch. It’s nothing new to me.

“At the end of the day it is up to the fans. I had four or five great years at Everton, it is a great club and I have still got some friends there.

“All in all, I had seven years on Merseyside and it is a great place to play football.

“I knew when I moved from Everton at the time the effect it would have, but I’m going back there now as a Hull City player and the focus for us and myself is on getting a good result there.

“I knew it was a talking point going to Everton’s rivals, but they got good money for me at the time and I only had a year or six months left on my contract.

“I have fond memories of my time there, but at the end of the day you can’t control what people think or do. So if the crowd are hard on me, then I can’t stop that.

“I scored for Liverpool against Everton and it didn’t go down too well on the blue half, but that is what you are paid to do.”

Everton To Sign Saha On Free Transfer

Everton manager David Moyes has confirmed that he will sign Manchester United striker Louis Saha on a free transfer.

However Manchester United will be owed money depending on how many games the Frenchman appears in for the Toffees.

David Moyes told Evertontv – “It looks like we are going to bring Louis here. We are getting him for no cost just now which gives us a great chance to get him here.

“He has had injuries and he’s not been on the pitch as much as he should be.

“If we do get him on the pitch there’s no doubt he’s a very good player. He adds qualities we will need. I am confident we will get him out there.”

Everton “Bring Your Boots” Fans Campaign Over Lack of Players

Everton websites are hoping to get as many fans to take their football boots to the Blackburn game on Saturday as possible to prove a point to their Chairman.

The Toffees have yet to sign a single player this summer with Steven Pienaar out for upto 8 weeks leaving only TWO midfielders in the whole of their squad, along side only ONE striker who is up for selection.

The idea will be a light hearted joke suggesting that some fans might infact be picked to play due to the size of their squad but will show the club that the fans are not happy about their current situation.

You can find out more about this on Everton fansite NSNO by clicking here.
