Bayern chief highlights City animosity

Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness has launched a scathing attack on Manchester City – heightening the growing animosity throughout Europe towards the mega-rich club.
City were the biggest spenders in the January transfer window splashing out almost £50million, while they also forked out a British-record £32million for Robinho in the summer – a fact which appears to have irked Bayern general manager Hoeness.
Midfielder Nigel de Jong, who cost City around £18million last month from Hamburg, could have left the Bundesliga club for just £1.8million at the end of the season due to a clause in his contract – a fact which amused Hoeness.
“I saw the Premier League game between Stoke City and Manchester City,” he said
“I noticed that millions have been invested by certain people there very badly.
“I saw that they can do absolutely nothing, even though they were very expensive.”
The ill-feeling towards the Sheikh Mansour-funded club also seems to be spreading through England as well with Blackburn seemingly unwilling to sell Roque Santa Cruz to City last month.
Rovers boss Sam Allardyce reportedly slapped a £25million price on the head of the Paraguayan, who is surely a £10million-man at best.
Wigan boss Steve Bruce has also voiced his disgust at City’s pursuit of Wilson Palacios, who eventually moved to Spurs, and City’s wealth is certainly bringing out the green-eyed monster in people.
City boss Mark Hughes, whose side were as short as 2.0 to break into the top six, are now football odds of 5.9 and Hughes looks as though he’ll have to lift the Eastlands outfit without much help from his fellow managers.

Another Set To Leave – Non League Blog

Well it has come out that Jon Paul-Pittman is on his way out of the club. I wish JP all the best but am confused as to the reasoning behind it. Do the club need the money ? Were constantly told no. JP will without a doubt want to move up a league, But if the club were sure we could make the play-offs why didn’t they turn the bid down ?
Is it the price of promotion ?

Towel thrown in ?

This was the subject raised on the Crawley Town fans forum. I am in 2 minds about this. From 1 side it looks like the club are doing a smart but of business and getting some money in. Yet again they could be getting players off the wage bill and stopping financial meltdown.

The point was made that we are bringing in quality players on loan, True we are but whats the point when were getting rid of the players that are making our team great. Why bring in quality when we are emptying the club of the quality it has.

Doesn’t make sense to me.

Is the dream over for another year ? Lets hope not.

No Rain But Pitch Waterlogged – Non League Blog

Yesterday’s match Vs Havant was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Strange as Westliegh Park hasn’t seen any rain for a week. This is the non-league and it seems officials are trying to protect the players to much. They should be used to playing on terrible pitches and in awful conditions.

Yet due to the referee’s foot sinking in 2 spots in the centre circle the games off, Its stupid. Its not old trafford with £90,000 a week players on show.

This is what the non-leagues about.
