Everton vs Hull City – Goodison Park

Everton go into this game on the back of a professional performance against League Two outfit Macclesfield. Unbeaten since Ashley Young’s last minute winner last month and successive clean sheets to boast as well. Segundo Castillo may be in contention for a start, coming back from injury but no other new boosts for David Moyes’ team. It will be interesting to see if £15 million man Maroaune Fellaini starts, who is on 9 bookings with two Merseyside Derbies on the horizon.

Brown is likely to bring back a few players that missed out in the 0-0 draw with Newcastle in the FA Cup. Ian Ashbee, Boaz Myhill, Bernard Mendy and Zamil Zayette all set to return. Another who missed the cup tie was Nick Barmby, who is set to play his first game at Goodison Park since his move from Everton to rivals Liverpool. He is sure to get a reception of some kind by the Evertonians. The Tigers recent league form has been worrying. Not winning since Middlesbrough at home but also have a great 2-2 result at Anfield. More concerning for Phil Brown’s men is that they have conceeded 10 goals in 3 games in the Premier League. I’m sure he has been working hard beinhd the scenes to stop the rot.
