Wigan Athletic officials have landed in Cairo to discuss a transfer for star man Amr Zaki with Zamalek officials.

Zamalek set Zaki’s asking price at £6m when Wigan took the Egyptian on loan for the season but without a fee agreed it is now believed to have doubled.

Both Liverpool & Manchester City have been heavily linked with the striker who has been scoring for fun.

Current manager Steve Bruce said - “Zaki was absolutely scary, he put in a wonderful performance.

“When you produce a display like that, the last thing you want to happen is to finish on the losing side.”
