West Ham 0-2 Arsenal

Three points for The Gunners, but wow! The officials might have well not bothered turning up, and I’ll start with the blatant hand ball from Rob Green half a mile outside the box. West Ham ought to have been down to ten men long before I even opened my eyes.

Luckily today, the woeful referring didn’t cost any points, but for goodness sake this is a prime example as to why video refs are needed, and your general official is garbage….

Arsenal were never in any danger of losing this game, but they didn’t half make it difficult for themselves. A first half full of misplaced passes, and threading silly passes to nowhere made for annoyance from the Arsenal fraternity.

Usual thing, dominate, yet fail to produce, and something that perhaps needs addressing, chances MUST be converted.

Arsenal should have been a cricket score ahead before the ineptness of the officials failing to spot Rob Green handle the ball some wickets length from the edge of his area. I’ll harp on about it, but it makes little difference today. Normally the referees seem to conspire against us!

Still, we keep going, Arsenal do that. We aren’t interested in how others win or lose games because of basic blunders from officials…..

Arsenal created chances throughout, and finally the breakthrough happened. Despite countless chances going to waste, shots and free kicks hitting the post. Les Reds finally got off the mark with Ade coming off the bench and giving Wenger a bit of a headache Ade took the ball, fired across the keeper, 1-0 Arsenal. The ball did take a deflection on the way, but as Lady Luck hadn’t been shining on Arsenal up until that point, it was high time she smiled!

One up, and surely a question of time before the lead is doubled…. Nah, the Arsenal way is to put the supporters to the sword! Arsenal to their credit, were searching for another goal, and pressing hard. The killer goal came late on, just into injury time via Emanual Adebayor, who would have been keen to regain his starting place.

The Hammers finished with ten men on the pitch after Cole went through the back of Song, effectively killing any chance of a consolation.

Three points gained, and three points closer to C$KA Fulham who lost at home for the first time since we beat them back in 2004. Is the title race open? You’d better believe it is, and Arsenal are right up there in the mix.

Prem Club Hope To Beat Liverpool To £12m Man

Wigan Athletic officials have landed in Cairo to discuss a transfer for star man Amr Zaki with Zamalek officials.

Zamalek set Zaki’s asking price at £6m when Wigan took the Egyptian on loan for the season but without a fee agreed it is now believed to have doubled.

Both Liverpool & Manchester City have been heavily linked with the striker who has been scoring for fun.

Current manager Steve Bruce said – “Zaki was absolutely scary, he put in a wonderful performance.

“When you produce a display like that, the last thing you want to happen is to finish on the losing side.”

Is Sunderland v Newcastle Really A ‘Derby’ ?

There’s always been a little bit of discussion regarding what is and isn’t a derby.

For me, a derby is a game where two teams from the same city play each other. For example, Rangers vs Celtic (Glasgow), Everton vs Liverpool (Liverpool).

Then theres the likes of Sunderland vs Newcastle and Pompey vs Southampton. For me, they are not derbies. They are just rivalries.

Tigers Keep On Roaring

After last weekends shock win away to Arsenal, Hull headed back to North London to face a Tottenham side in serious trouble. Tottenham remaind the only side in the premier league to not yet record a win and were sitting bottem of the table before Hull City’s visit to White Hart Lane.
Phil Brown brought an unchanged side from last weeks win at The Emirates with Marlon King passed fit to play. Tottenham replaced Ledley King with Vedran Corluka and started with a two man strike force praying for goals from Roman Pavyluchenko and Fraizer Campbell who spent last season on loan with Hull netting them 15 goals in their campaign that gained them premier league status.
Hull City fans didn’t have to wait long untill their voices were heard this week in North London. After just 4 minutes Geovanni blazed the ball over the bar from 8 yards out. 3 minutes later Hull were handed a free kick and you guessed it, up stepped the on fire Geovanni who supurbly curled the ball into the top corner of Gomes’s net. What a free signing he has turned out to be. Tottenham fans in disbelief as the travelling Tigers chanted out ‘Are you Arsenal in disguise’.
It didn’t take long for Tottenham’s afternoon to go from bad to worse. After going 1-0 down so early on seeing Pavyluchenko go down after just 35 minutes was deffinatly not a good sign. The Russian limped off which saw Darren Bent on for the remainder of the first half. When your luck is out nothing seems to go right. On the stroke of half time Jonathan Woodgate saw his shot from 15 yards deflect off Hull’s Michael Turner and crash off the post. The boo’s rang out at White Hart Lane as Rob Styles Blew for half time.

The start of the second half looked more promising for Spurs, Dider Zokora hammered a shot over the bar from 22 yards, early subsitution Darren Bent then saw a good shot blocked by Hull’s Michael Turner. Hull took off goalscorer Geovanni midway through the second half, while Spurs fans started to voice their frustration. Luka Modric steped up next only to see his shot hit into the ground and bounce over the bar. The Hull fans who seemed to be enjoying there wet afternoon in North London turn their chants to Juande Ramos in the form of ‘Your getting sacked in the morning’. Tottenham’s attitude seemed to be bright at the start of the second half but they seem to be lacking in any quality that looks good enough to unlock Hull City’s Defence.

In the final moments Rob Styles decided not to point to the spot when Hull City’s George Boateng made a perfectly good challenge on Tottenham’s Fraizer Campbell. Campbell went down in the box but unlike last week the referee got the decision correct. The last kick of the game fell to Gareth Bale, he curled a 30 yard free kick just inches wide of Boaz Myhills post. As the final whistle blew the boo’s quickly rang out at White Hart Lane but the travelling Hull City fans go crazy giving their lads a well deserved standing ovation.

Hull have grabbed their first season in top flight football with both hands.
Their fans are in dreamland, 7 games in, 14 points and sitting third in the table.
Tottenham remain rock bottem of the premier league with 2 points and no wins from 7 games.
