Barnsley Complete Trio Signing

Barnsley completed their second and third signing of the pre-season today after revealing midfielders Mounir El Haimour & Hugo Roberto Colace had completed transfers to Oakwell.

Reds manager Simon Davey spoke of the excitement of capturing Hugo – “This is a massive coup for our Club. Hugo is a tremendous talent and has a very good pedigree after playing for the Argentinean national team right through to U21 level.

“He is technically an outstanding footballer and we cannot wait to start work with him here. We are delighted to have brought him in and sure that he will have a big part to play for us next season”.

This came after signing former Tranmere man Iain Hume in a deal for £1.2m.

Portsmouth Should Sign England Left Back

Former Reading star and current Portsmouth midfielder Glen Little has told pal Nicky Shorey to leave the Championship and join his current team.

Little told the press – “Nicky is my best mate so of course I am going to say good things about him. But I would love to see him sign for Portsmouth as well – and they would also be getting a very good player.“He lives just round the corner from me on the outskirts of Reading and we are always going out together. We are always round each others’ houses and he was my room partner at Reading.

“I know a few of the Pompey players but it would be fantastic to have my best mate in the dressing room as well down here. I’d love it.

“Reading have already got the hump with me for leaving so I am not going to try to upset people saying he should go and sign for so and so. But at the end of the day I want what’s best for him and he should follow me down here.

“He wants to be in the Premier League; he’s an England player and has been the best left-back in the Championship for a number of years.

“Reading won’t want him to go on the cheap but it would be great if I could see more of him – so I want him to come to Portsmouth as well.”

Everton Should Look At Buying Rather Then Selling

Wigan, Aston Villa and Sunderland have all of late been linked to making moves for Everton & England striker Andrew Johnson.

Everton currently only have four strikers, two of which are still teenagers and lacking experience at the highest level.

Should Everton really be looking at selling a striker such as Andrew Johnson rather then looking at adding another forward to their ranks?

The Merseyside club has already lost a number of first team players and have not yet completed any future deal for on loan midfielder Manuel Fernandes.

Everton continue to rubbish reports that the former Crystal Palace man is heading out of the exit door but could ‘Rumours’ about him being unsettled prove to be true?

Gunners To Steal Everton & United Target

Miguel Veloso’s agent has confirmed that Arsenal have made an approach for the Sporting Lisbon midfielder.

Veloso was recently linked to Manchester United, Everton, Juventus & AC Milan but his agent has only stated that Arsenal have made an official move for the Portuguese player.

The midfielder was named in Portugal’s Euros’ 2008 campaign and has featured seven times for his country.

After winning the Portuguese cup with Lisbon this year the midfielder went on to say – “I do not know if this was my last game for Sporting, let’s see what the future holds for me.”
